• The CCEA approved three Ministry of Railways multitracking projects with a combined estimated cost of ₹10,783 crore.

• Its six themes are breeding, climate resilience, nutrition and markets, farming systems, seed systems, and gender and youth inclusion.

• The Union government is preparing proposed seed legislation aimed at protecting farmers from fake and substandard seeds.

• The consultation seeks to incorporate farmers' ground-level experiences, suggestions and concerns into the draft legislation.
• The proposed framework is expected to permit heavy penalties and imprisonment for companies and traders dealing in fake, adulterated or substandard seeds.
