Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how PrelimsAI collects, uses, and protects your information on our website and in our Android app.

1. Information We Collect

• Account details: your name, email address and profile picture from Google when you sign in.
• Study data: your answers, scores, practice and mock history, progress, plans, notes and support messages.
• AI conversations: the questions you ask the AI Mentor and book chat, and the answers generated for you.
• Uploaded study material: when you upload a PDF or paste notes, we extract and store the text. We do not keep the original PDF file after extracting its text.
• Purchases: the plan you bought, the amount, the payment or purchase reference and its status. We do not receive or store your full card, UPI or bank details.
• Device and usage data: pages and screens viewed, features used, browser and device details, push notification tokens in the Android app, and crash reports.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve the service, track your practice progress, generate AI answers, process payments and manage your plan, send notifications and emails you can turn off, and communicate service updates. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Service Providers

We share information with the following providers only as needed for the purposes listed. Some of them process data outside India.

• Google: Sign-in with your Google account. In the Android app, Google Play also processes in-app purchases.
• Razorpay: Payments made on our website. Razorpay collects your card, UPI or bank details directly; we receive the order and payment reference and its status.
• RevenueCat: Records Google Play purchases and subscription status so your plan is active on every device.
• Vercel (AI Gateway): Routes your AI Mentor questions, book-chat messages and the text of study material you upload to the AI model that generates the answer.
• PostHog: Product analytics: pages and screens viewed, features used, and device and browser details. When you are signed in, these events are linked to your account, name and email.
• Sentry: Crash and error reports from the Android app.
• Expo: Delivers push notifications to the Android app using your device's push token.
• Cloudflare: Sends account, study and product-update emails.
• Vercel and Railway: Host our website, servers and database.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

We use a cookie to keep you signed in. Our analytics provider stores an identifier in your browser to count visits and link events to your session. We also use your browser's local storage to remember small preferences, such as a dismissed prompt.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your data from the Android app under More → Account, or by following the instructions on our account deletion page. That page also lists the records we may keep after deletion.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the service. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
